Fruit Brute

Fruit Brute was one of a line of five monster-themed breakfast cereals produced by General Mills. It is also the name of the cereal's mascot, a humorous cartoon werewolf. The frosted fruit-flavored cereal contained lime flavored marshmallows. Other cereals in the product line include Count Chocula (chocolate-flavored), Boo Berry (blueberry-flavored), Franken Berry (strawberry-flavored), and Yummy Mummy (fruit flavored with vanilla-flavored marshmallows). Fruit Brute was produced from 1975 to 1983. Somewhat unusual for a retired advertising character, Fruit Brute continues to be seen on the occasional piece of official merchandise: in recent years both a resin model kit and a bobblehead statue have been sold in his image.
