Free-To-Air is a term regarding transmission of unencrypted (or "unscrambled") television and radio over satellite. The term is often used with digital satellite receivers ("FTA Satellite" receivers) intended to receive unencrypted DVB-S (Digital Video Broadcasting--Satellite) programming.
