His claim to a title ("Prince") has been proved to be unfounded (see Zsa Zsa Gabor) as his adoption as an adult by a German princess as a form of income does not transfer or provide for any legitimate title, but many people undoubtedly believe he is a European noble.

He has been a dutiful and faithful 9th husband (her 8th legal husband) to his 89-year old wife, Zsa Zsa Gabor, who has suffered ill health and stress in recent years, particularly in a car crash in which she was a passenger, and also the stress brought on by the apparently larcenous behavior of her only child, Francesca Hilton, whom she has been forced to sue, who is only about 4 years younger than her current step-father.
