Freddie Davies
Comedian born 21st July 1937 in Brixton, London, though he was actually brought up in Salford, Manchester. Freddie became a stand up comedian but he began his career as a holiday camp entertainer. He began on the cabaret circuit in 1964 when he turned professional, and he appeared on "Sunday Night At The Palladium" and "Opportunity Knocks". Freddie also performed his act on various ocean cruises with fellow comedian and friend Jim Bowen.

His act featured jokes about budgies, and he eventually picked up the nickname "Parrot Face", also due to the faces he pulled on stage. So he became known as "Freddie "Parrot Face" Davies", wore a bowler hat and became very popular with both young and old.

In 1974 he landed a childrens television series "Samuel Tweet". Mr. Tweet worked in a pet shop in Chumpton Green, appearing with many animals during the series.

Freddie's other television appearences include Heartbeat (television), "Casualty" and Last Of The Summer Wine. In 2004 he appeared in the film "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban".
