Frank Lovejoy


 

Frank Lovejoy (March 28, 1914 - October 2, 1962) was a 40s and 50s film actor playing mostly supporting roles. Before becoming a movie actor in the late 40s, Lovejoy was a successful radio voice-over talent and stage actor. Lovejoy was a voice-over talent on the 30s crime story radio series called Gangbusters. He also played the title character on the super-hero syndicated radio program "The Blue Beetle" (1940).

In movies, Lovejoy was effective playing the movie's everyman (because of his somewhat bland looks and unassuming personality) in extrodinary situations. Lovejoy also played in many World War II movies.
