Frank Iero

Frank Anthony Iero (born October 31, 1981) is the rhythm guitarist for the band My Chemical Romance. He was recruited to fill out the band's sound when his own band, Pencey Prep, broke up. Iero grew up in Belleville, New Jersey and attended Rutgers University for a short time before dropping out. In addition to Pencey Prep, Iero played with Hybrid, Sector 12, and briefly with I Am A Graveyard. Frank Iero used to suffer from Epstein-Barr virus, and battled pneumonia throughout his childhood.

Family & Childhood

He grew up with his mom, Linda, who divorced his dad (who has greatly influenced him over the years). Just like fellow band mate Gerard Way, he has been playing in bands since he was eleven. Frank went to a catholic school growing up, where he learned to tie a tie. He was bullied in high school, but must've pulled himself together to endure four long years of Rutgers University.
