Francis Frederick of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfield

Franz Friedrich Anton, Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld (15 July 1750 - 9 December 1806), was the son of Ernst Friedrich, Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld (1724-1800) and his wife Sophia Antonia of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel (1724-1802).

He married, on 6 March 1776, at Hildburghausen, Sophie von Saxe-Hildburghausen. She was born on 22 February 1760 and died on 28 October 1776, months after her wedding: there were no children born of this marriage.

His descendents established ruling houses in Belguim, Great Britain, Portugal and Bulgaria. His son Léopold ruled as Léopold I of Belgium. His grandchildren Victoria and Albert ruled Great Britian. Another grandson Ferdinand, ruled as King-consort Ferdinand II of Portugal. Finally, a great grandson ruled as Ferdinand I of Bulgaria.
