Forum (plural fora or forums) is a public meeting place for discussion or lecture.

Forum is a transliteration of the Latin noun which referred to a Roman city's marketplace or public square. It also describes an ancient Roman city forming the epicenter of judicial business and public affairs. This meaning in turn stems from the Latin verb ferre, meaning "to bring" (in this sense alluding to the goods traders bring to market).
