Formula Three

Formula Three, also called Formula 3 or, in abbreviated form, F3, is a type of formula racing and a class of auto racing. It is widely accepted as an important step for drivers towards Formula One. While a few drivers have gone on to drive in open-wheeled motorsports premier category since the inception of Formula Three without driving one, the majority have spent time in the cockpit of these cheap, fast, entry-level race cars.

Regulations

• width : 1850mm maximum
• wheelbase : 2000mm minimum
• track : 1200mm minimum
• weight: 550kg minimum
• active suspension, telemetry and traction control are forbidden
• two wheel steering, two wheel drive cars
• manual gearbox with six forward gears maximum and one reverse
• not drilled ferrous brakes
• four wheels, width 11.5 inches, diameter 13 inches
• service stations petrol
• 26mm diameter restrictor (leading to near 200 horsepower between 5000 and 7400 rpm)
