Football World Cup 2002
The 2002 Football World Cup (Official name:2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan?) was held in South Korea and Japan from May 31 to June 30. It was the 17th edition of the tournament. For the first time in history it was organised by two countries, which also meant that for the first time three teams received automatic berths in the tournament. It was also the first time it was not held in Europe or the Americas. The tournament was won by Brazil for a record fifth time.
