Florida City is a city located in Miami-Dade County, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 7,843. As of 2004, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is 8,363 .

The city lies to the west of, and is contiguous with, Homestead. Both cities suffered catastrophic damage in August 1992, when Hurricane Andrew struck South Florida.
