Flandreau, South Dakota
Flandreau is a city located in Moody County, South Dakota. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 2,376. It is the county seat of Moody County{{GR|6}}. It was named in honor of Charles Eugene Flandrau, a judge in the territory and state of Minnesota, who is credited with saving the nearby community of New Ulm, Minnesota from destruction during conflict with the Sioux in 1862.
