Finnish national men's ice hockey team
The Finnish national men's ice hockey team is one of the more elite ice hockey teams in the world, currently #7 on the IIHF world ranking. The team is governed by The Finnish Ice Hockey Association. Finland's only major international tournament win was in the 1995 World Championships. At the 1998 Winter Olympics they won a bronze medal .

Team Finland finished second at the 2004 World Cup of Hockey, after winning semi-finals against USA and losing the final against Canada. Some consider the 2004 WCH success the team's biggest achievement so far, although the 1995 world championships gold medal has practically legendary status in Finland.
