The town of Finale Ligure is nominally divided into three "boroughs." Finale Ligure Marina is the main seaside part of the town, most frequented by tourists, while Finale Pia is the traditional center of the town. Finalborgo, the third borough and located further inland, consists of an old walled medieval town that is of much interest.

The town is connected to the outside world by various highways and a rail line. As of June 2006, a 2-hour one-way trip to Nice cost only 10 Euro, a very favorable price when compared to the high-speed French TGV lines next door.

The small town has been largely spared of the huge flocks of tourists that yearly invade Nice, Cinque Terre and other Riviera cities. The few tourists who do stop by in the city often come through the local youth hostel, actually a picturesque 19th century castle located high above the city.
