Ferris Bueller (TV series)

Ferris Bueller was an infamously short-lived spin-off of 1986 John Hughes film Ferris Bueller's Day Off. It debuted in August 23, 1990 on NBC and was cancelled within a few short months of its debut.

Adding insult to injury, the same month the show debuted Fox network's launched Parker Lewis Can't Lose, a high school sitcom that was heavily inspired by the original Ferris Bueller movie. Parker Lewis Can't Lose quickly became a hit show for Fox, lasting three seasons and developing a cult following amongst viewers. Cocky in their success, the writers of Parker Lewis mocked the failure of the Ferris Bueller TV series at the end of their first season, by having a Ferris Bueller lookalike openly complaining that his show should have been more like Parker Lewis's show.

The show is generally considered to be a huge failure and is only remembered these days for the fact that the show starred a then unknown Jennifer Aniston as Jeannie Bueller.
