Fear & Respect

Fear & Respect is a video game for PlayStation 2 and Xbox consoles that is scheduled for release sometime during 2006. John Singleton is involved in the production of the game. He has directed movies (Boyz N the Hood, Baby Boy and 2 Fast 2 Furious) and has been involved with other games in the past.

The game features Snoop Dogg (who plays Goldie) and other characters. The player plays in third person mode so that you can see the back of the currently played character. The objective of the game is to fight to gain respect of rival gangs in South Central Los Angeles. If you gain a gang's respect then they will treat you differently than if they fear you.

At the moment there are very few details about the game as its release is a long way off. However, one trailer and thirteen screenshots have been made available by Midway.

The game's release date has been changed to 2006 (from Q4, 2005) because Midway Games has reported 'slow growths' for the first quarter of 2005.

As of August 18, GameSpot now reports http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/fearrespect/index.html that the title will be available on the next-gen consoles, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and not on the current-gen consoles, the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. However, IGN still have the titles for the current-gen consoles and the next-gen consoles.
