Farnworth
Farnworth is a town in the borough of Bolton in England. It lies on the River Irwell and the River Croal and has a population of around 25,000 people.

The town grew up in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries around the coal mining industry. Other industry included iron foundries and cotton mills.

Farnworth has a market and a theatre, and is also known for its underground canals, running from the mines to Worsley. There is an overflow road from the A666 to Bolton and the village has one main street, with fast food shops, haberdasheries and pubs, that has been made pedestrianised and rennovated in the last five years. The A666 which mostly by passes this town.

Farnworth has one of the busiest per capita job centres in the country.

In early 2005 Farnworth was made famous on the world stage. The village was observed on a Police chase television series in a broadcast in the US where local UK police engaged and chased down the main street a stolen car being driven at high speed.
