Farmingdale, New York
Farmingdale is a village located in Nassau County, New York in the USA. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 8,399.
History
The community began as "Hardscrabble" around 1841, but the name was changed to "Farmingdale" in 1845. The village was incorporated in 1904. In 1914 the state Agricultural and Technical school was set up, and later the area became a locus for the aircraft industry.
