Fallen is the debut of rock band Evanescence on the Wind-up Records label, and their first album to achieve widespread release around the world. In contrast, their previous album, Origin, was only released in limited numbers in their hometown of Little Rock, Arkansas. Released in 2003, Fallen spent 16 weeks in the United Kingdom album charts, reaching the number one spot. In the United States, however, the album remained on the chart for upward of 100 weeks, and peaked at number 3.
