Faggoth


 
 

Faggoth is supposedly a musical genre that is similar to, but distinct from, black metal. In reality, faggoth is not a real genre, but a derogatory term used by black metal fans to insult bands on the borderline of black metal, marking them as inferior to real black metal.

Faggoth supposedly sounds similar to black metal, but lacks the ideological aspect that characterizes black metal. Faggoth also uses keyboards/synths a lot, and the lyrics and imagery tends to focus on "gothic" elements.

The bands most commonly accused of being faggoth are Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir.
