Faculty
Faculty has several different meanings and can refer to:
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
- The Faculty are the instructors and/or researchers of high standing at universities, as opposed to the students or support staff. The term "faculty" may also be applied to instructors at colleges and private and public primary or secondary academies and some other educational institutions.
- A faculty is a division of a university (e.g. a Faculty of Science or Faculty of Medicine).
- A faculty is an instrument or warrant in canon laws, especially a judicial or quasi-judicial warrant from an ecclesiastical court or tribunal.
- A faculty is an ability, skill, or power.
- The Faculty of Advocates is the body of legal counsel or Advocates in Scotland.
- The Faculty of Actuaries is the professional body representing actuaries in Scotland.
