Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex* (*But Were Afraid to Ask) is a book (1969, updated 1999) by U.S. physician Dr. David Reuben. It was one of the first sex manuals that entered mainstream culture in the 1960s. Although it did not feature explicit images of sex acts, its descriptions of sex acts were unprecedentedly detailed. Despite this new, more liberal attitude concerning sex, the book describes homosexuality as a disease, as a striving for the impossible, and as such, differs little from mainstream medical views of homosexuality in the 1880s.
