Estelle Harris

Estelle Harris (born April 4 1932 in New York City), is an American actress who is almost definitely best known for her supporting role as Estelle Costanza, George (Jason Alexander)'s mother, and Frank (Jerry Stiller)'s wife on the long-running TV sitcom Seinfeld.

She often plays annoying, dumpy-looking and/or shrill relatives in movies, such as "Aunt Velda" in Playing Mona Lisa (2000) and "Aunt Harriet" in This is My Life (1992), an exception being her role as Pippin's randy grandmother "Berthe" in a California production of the musical Pippin (created by Steven Schwartz) in the early 1970s, which she later reprised in the 1990s. She also plays the lazy hotel maid named Muriel in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.

Married to Sy Harris since 1953, Estelle is the mother of three, including disabled former New York City policewoman, Taryn Harris.

Estelle and Sy Harris escaped injury after their car blew a tire and flipped twice outside of Los Angeles, California on September 20, 2001.
