Mr Hoppy is madly in love with Mrs Silver, a widow who lives in the flat below him, and has been for many years. Mrs Silver, however, dotes upon her very small pet tortoise, Alfie. Mr Hoppy decides to win his beloved's heart, using a set of clever riddles and an army of tortoises.
