Enoch Bolles
Enoch Bolles was an American painter of pin-up art.

After Alberto Vargas and George Petty, Bolles was the best known of the Art Deco era pin-up artists, thanks to his massive publications on the covers of pulps and men's magazines of the era. As a result, his techniques clearly influenced many of his contemporaries.

Very little is known about Bolles' life. Probably born near Chicago, Illinois, he worked in New York City, where he could be close to the publishers of the pulps and men's magazines he specialized in during the 1920s and 1930s.

Bolles began his career in 1915, painting pulp magazine covers for Dell Publishing. Between 1921 and 1948, he painted a series of pin-ups for the cover of Film Fun which the public came to recognize almost as well as the Esquire Petty Girl. He also painted for many other pulps, including Spicy Stories, which had the largest circulation of any pulp at the time.
