Emperor Go-Ichijo

Emperor Go-Ichij? (????? Go-Ichij? Tenn?) (October 12, 1008 – May 15, 1036) was the 68th imperial ruler of Japan, according to the traditional order of succession. He reigned from 1016 to 1036. His personal name was Atsuhira (??).

Life

Because he became emperor at the age of 8, upon the abdication of his first cousin once removed Emperor Sanj?, Fujiwara no Michinaga actually ruled as sessh? (regent).
