Emperor is the debut EP from Emperor. It was also released as a split album with Enslaved's debut EP, Hordanes Land. It was re-released in 1998 by Candlelight Records with the Wrath of the Tyrant demo on the same disc. "Wrath of the Tyrant" and "Night of the Graveless Souls" were both re-recorded from that demo, while "I Am the Black Wizards" and "Cosmic Keys to My Creations and Times" were both re-recorded on the band's debut full-length In The Nightside Eclipse.

Emperor were a Norwegian black metal band formed in 1991. Over the years, the band's music changed to what can be called "extreme symphonic metal" in their later days. They dissolved in 2001, but reunited in 2006 and again in 2007 for a few festival dates and brief US tours. The group was founded by Samoth on drums and Ihsahn on guitar and vocals.
