Embellishments
Embellishments (musical) are fast notes around a central note.

The central note is normally written as a normal-size notes.

Embellishments fall into categories: trill, mordent, turn (music), reverse turn,
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
appogiatura, acciacatura, and so on.

The embellishment can be written as small notes or as a special
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
sign. These signs have different meanings in different times and
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
places, so often it is wise to explain.

If the embellishment grows long and takes shape of scales or chords
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
it is most often written out in details and is often called "fioritura",
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
"variant", or even "variations".

In the baroque era variations were common sometimes called "diferenzias"
