~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ At one time in the 1960s, he was a member of the band Bluesology, fronted by Long John Baldry and also featuring a young keyboard player named Reginald Dwight, who would later achieve enormous musical success as Elton John—a name taken from Dean's and Baldry's first names. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Dean later joined the band Soft Machine. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
