Elizabeth Allan (British actress)
Elizabeth Allan (9 April 1908 - 27 July 1990) was a British actor who worked in both Britain and Hollywood, making about 50 films over more than a quarter century.

She was born at Skegness in Lincolnshire. In 1931 she both turned 23, and first appeared in film, in the British The Rosary, second-billed behind another actress, and six more films released that year included her.

In 1932 she joined Wilfred J. O'Bryen in a marriage that lasted until his death over four decades later.

Her first US/UK co-production and first US production came in 1933. She went onto contract with MGM until 1938, and returned to Britain after that.

Late in her career, she was a frequent panelist on television game shows, including the British version of What's My Line. In the 1950s (and her own 40s) she made her last nine films, culminating in Grip of the Strangler in 1958, where Boris Karloff starred and she was billed third.

In 1977, when she was in her late 60s, her husband O'Bryen died. Her own death came at the age of 82, at Hove in East Sussex.
