Elias Boudinot (Cherokee)


 

Elias Boudinot (18001839) was a Cherokee Indian who started and edited the tribe's first newspaper. He was born in Georgia as Gallegina Watie, edited the Cherokee Phoenix, and died in Oklahoma.
