Elephas recki
Elephas recki is an enormous, extinct species of elephant. It lived in Africa between 3.5 and 1 million years ago. Although fossils have only been found in the eastern part of the continent, it is believed that E. recki ranged throughout Africa. The Asian Elephant is a member of the same genus, and it is still extant.
