Eisleben


 
 

Eisleben is a town in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It is most famous for being the hometown of Martin Luther, hence its official name is Lutherstadt Eisleben. The town is the capital of the district Mansfelder Land, and as of 2004 has a population of 21,062.

Together with Wittenberg, the houses of Martin Luther in Eisleben are a World Heritage Site since 1997.
