Edinburgh Academy
The Edinburgh Academy is a private school that was founded in 1824 to stimulate classical learning in Edinburgh, Scotland. The Academy building, with its Greek Doric frontage, was designed by architect William Burn. The school is situated in the New Town. Although it does have some boarders, it is composed of nearly all day pupils.

Each year the school competes in "Clackan", which is a stick game closely related to shinty. Many private schools have their own sports, notably Eton College which has the Eton Wall game.
