The stadium has a capacity of 17,500 and also plays host to other football events such as cup matches and Scotland international matches.

The stadium is one of the largest in Scotland in terms of capacity. This is due to its three two-tiered stands. Two of these, the Famous Five (North) Stand and the South Stand, were built in 1995. The largest stand, the West Stand, is similar in design to the North and South Stands, but wasn't built until 2001.
