DuBois, Pennsylvania
DuBois (pronounced {{IPA|/'du.bɔɪz/}}, not {{IPA|/du'bwɑ/}}) is a city located in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, 128 miles (206 km) northeast of Pittsburgh. Settled in 1873, DuBois was incorporated as a borough in 1881. The mining of bituminous coal had been the chief industry in DuBois, supporting a population of 9,375 in 1900; 12,623 in 1910; 13,681 in 1920; and 12,080 in 1940. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 8,123.
