Dry Tortugas
The Dry Tortugas are a small group of islands, located at the end of the Florida Keys, USA, about 113 km west of Key West, and 60 km west of the Marquesas Keys, the closest islands. The islands were discovered in 1513 by Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León. They are an unincorporated area of Monroe County, Florida and belong to the Lower Keys Census County Division.

Research Expedition Seeks Details of Coral Disease Impacts in Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary
Researchers from NOAA, Auburn University, George Mason University, Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution, and Mote Marine Laboratory will look for evidence of coral disease and bleaching at approximately 50 research stations from Key Largo to the Dry Tortugas.
