~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Highly intelligent but an amoral psychopath, she is the living embodiment of the "mad scientist" convention and an allegory for the (perhaps percieved) evils of science and technology. She began her career researching biological warfare and eugenics. The left half of her face is horribly and permanently scarred, presumably from exposure to her own experiments or (as one source says) from using herself as a "guinea pig". Her disfigurement is perpetually hidden by a lock of bleached white hair. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Dr. Blight's trademark is her long, high laugh, followed by a satisfied "aaaaaah!" ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Her partner in crime is M.A.L,. a hyper-intelligent computer with a human voice (Tim Curry, for most of the series) and face. M.A.L. offers both encouragement and wry asides. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Blight has a twin sister who is an actress. In an episode set in the future, Blight's daughter follows in her fiendish footsteps. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ The character was voiced by Meg Ryan and later, Mary Kay Bergman. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
