Down (band)

Down is a Southern heavy metal band that was formed in 1994 and split up in 1996; they later reformed in 2001 before disbanding again in 2004. The band's current status is becoming active again though the members still have other projects.

After the December 2004 murder of Pantera/Damageplan guitarist, Dimebag Darrell, Phil Anselmo hinted that he may not pursue any musical projects in the near future. However, it has been rumored he is working on a new project titled Body and Blood (Previously known as Southern Isolation), which is supposed to be more dark, mellow and ambient than his previous projects.

Guitarist, Jimmy Bower, has recently stated that a new Down album will appear in 2006.
