  • Little Richard's appearance in the film led to a revitaliztion of his career thanks to the success of the song "Great Gosh a'Mighty" from the soundtrack.
  • Released by Touchstone Pictures, a subsidiary of the Walt Disney Company, Down and Out in Beverly Hills has the distinction of being the first R-rated film ever released by Disney. The R rating is due to adult language as well as a brief scene showing a topless woman having sex -- another first for a Disney film.
