Doug Flutie
Doug Flutie is an American football player and presently a quarterback for the New England Patriots. He previously served as quarterback for the San Diego Chargers and was a superstar in the Canadian Football League. However he is best known for his career at Boston College, where his "Hail Mary" pass on November 23, 1984 is considered among the greatest moments in college football history. He received the Heisman Trophy, later that year.
Biographical information
Doug Flutie was born on October 23, 1962 in Manchester, Maryland to Lebanese-American parents. He grew up in Natick, Massachusetts and graduated from Natick High School, where he played he played for the "Redmen." It has been suggested that Flutie's penchant for wearing a red shirt under his football uniform dates to this time, though he has denied having any superstitions. The town of Natick has been called "Home of Champions," and a street has been named "Flutie Pass" in his honor.

Doug Flutie is the older brother of the CFL's all-time reception leader Darren Flutie. He is married and has an autistic son, Doug Flutie Jr., in whose name a foundation has been established. John Madden once said "Inch for inch, Flutie in his prime was the best QB of his generation."
