Docu-fiction
Docu-fiction is the name given to pieces of fiction that are based in historical truth. Usually this title can only be attributed to those most accurate pieces of fiction.

One example of docu-fiction might be the 1958 film "A Night to Remember" which details the events of the RMS Titanic's sinking. This contrasts with other films that follow a similar purpose - "Pearl Harbour" and the 1997 film "Titanic" which are generally considered too inaccurate.
