Doctor Detroit

Doctor Detroit is a 1983 comedy movie, starring Dan Aykroyd, Howard Hesseman, Lynn Whitfield, Fran Drescher, Donna Dixon and a special appearance by James Brown. The film was directed by Michael Pressman.

Plot summary

A shy, but gentle man named Clifford Skridlow is a Chivalry professor at Monroe College. He never thought the night would turn out so great after meeting 4 beautiful woman at a restaurant. Unfortunately, they're also hookers, and Smooth Walker, the girls' pimp, gets the idea of using Clifford as a patsy. Smooth Walker owes money to "Mom", a Chicago mob boss, and makes up a man named Doctor Detroit to save himself. Cliff is conned into becoming the ladies' pimp, and later on becomes the flamboyant pimp named "Doctor Detroit". He is now the girls' protector against Mom, and a dangerous and hilarious journey is ahead of him.
