Division (military)
A division is a large military unit or formation usually consisting of around ten to fifteen thousand soldiers. In most armies a division is composed of several regiments or brigades, and in turn several divisions make up a corps.
National organization
In the United States Army, a divisional unit typically consists of 10,000 to 20,000 soldiers commanded by a major general. Two divisions usually compose a corps and each division is composed of about 3 maneuver brigades, an aviation brigade, an engineer brigade, and a division artillery along with a number of smaller specialized units.
