The song is a paean to the City of Boston and the famously polluted Boston Harbor. The Boston Red Sox baseball team plays the song immediately following a home victory at Fenway Park (much as their rival, the New York Yankees play New York, New York by Frank Sinatra whenever they win at Yankee Stadium).
