Diola people
The Diola are a people living in The Gambia, Senegal (Casamance), and Guinea-Bissau. Predominantly a settled, agricultural people, they practise rice-based farming in the riverine areas of the Senegambia. Distinctively in a largely Muslim region, the Diola are mostly Catholic.
