Dino Cazares

Dino Cazares (born Friday, September 2, 1966) was the former guitarist for the Los Angeles, California-based death metal/industrial group Fear Factory. He was in the band until March 2002.

Cazares stated his father wanted him to be a baseball player but his mom influenced him to be a musician, which he liked better. He soon moved to Lost Angeles and started jamming with other people. Before he was in Fear Factory, he was in the death metal band Brujeria. After Fear Factory formed, that became his main project. Their first album Soul of a New Machine was dedicated to his father Natividad and older brother Joey, but it was not successful as their other two albums Demanufacture and Obsolete.

Cazares was also said to have caused tension in the band. Many have stated he had a rock-star attitude, he got in fights with the members a lot, took credit for everything and wasn't willing to accept new ideas. When the band dissolved, he went back to Brujeria but later left to form another group called Asesino. When Fear Factory reformed, he did not return and he will probably never come back.

His main guitar is a seven-string Ibanez Universe guitar that has an extra top fret that cannot be found in retail. While with Fear Factory, Cazares endorsed the Line 6 Flextone amp series and POD preamp. He is currently endorsing the Ibanez Toneblaster amps.
