Diego (footballer)
Diego Ribas da Cunha, born February 28, 1985 in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil is a professional footballer widely known as Diego.

Along with Robinho, Diego is one of Brazil's brightest future footballing prospects. He is usually employed as an attacking midfield playmaker operating in a central role. Coaches often instruct the youngster to drift forward and make use of his powerful shot.

In the summer of 2004, Diego transferred to then UEFA Champions League holders FC Porto from his first club Santos Futebol Clube in a ?7m deal. Many saw Diego as the ideal replacement for departed Portuguese star Deco, who left for Spanish giants FC Barcelona a few weeks beforehand. Diego signed a five-year contract that will keep him at FC Porto until July 2009.
