Deutsche Bundespost
Deutsche Bundespost (The Federal Post Office) was created 1947 as a successor of the realm post office. Between 1947 and 1950 the enterprise was called German post office. Until 1989 the Deutsche Bundespost (Federal Post Office) was a national unit enterprise, and/or an authority.

The Deutsche Bundespost was developed according to the three-stage principle usual in the German administration: the upper stage formed the Federal Ministry for the post office and telecommunication system, the middle stage consisted of regional directorates (and/or national post office management in West Berlin) including the central authorities on an equal footing (post office-technical central office, telecommunication engineering central office, Federal Postal Administration social office, post offices), the lower stage was post offices, offices for post office giro and telecommunication offices.

Legal basis for the administrative activity of the Federal Post Office was the postal administration law (PostVwG). - Deutsche Postbank AG from the Deutsche Bundespost range - postal bank (blue post office)
The central authorities remained existing however.

The Federal Ministry for post office and telecommunications remained responsible for the sovereign tasks in the postal service and with telecommunications. After the dissolution of the Ministry those, first under the name Federal Institution for telecommunications and post office, took over created adjustment authority for telecommunicationsand post office (RegTP) the tasksof the central authoritiesstarting from January 1 1998. Tasks of the Ministry and some tasks of the central authorities turned into on the Federal Ministry of finances. Some tasks in the telecommunication system for those the telecommunication engineering central office was responsible (particularly within the range of the BOS radio) turned into on the Federal Ministry of the inside.
