Deryck Whibley

Born on March 21, 1980, in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, Deryck Whibley (a.k.a. Bizzy D) is lead vocalist of Sum 41 who also plays the guitar. In 1996 he met with the future Sum 41 drummer Steve Jocz, the two of whom became the first members of the band who had formed from rival bands, 41 days into summer.

He has been rumoured to have had a close relationship with hotel heiress Paris Hilton but is now engaged to fellow Canadian rocker Avril Lavigne, with whom he bought a house in Beverly Hills which has 7 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a disco, wine cellar, tennis court and more.

In November 2003, his comments on the Paris Hilton sex tapes implied that they were involved in a sexual relationship. Paris was also Deryck's date at the Kerrang! awards.

Deryck is a very quiet, shy person in real life. But on the stage, he can be described as "energetic, enthusiastic, and down right crazy." Deryck's influences include Elvis Costello, The Beatles, and So-Cal punk bands. Deryck is Gunner in Sum 41's alter-ego band Pain for Pleasure.
